- 1 teaspoon high-quality matcha powder (use culinary or ceremonial grade for the best flavor)
- 2 ounces hot water (about 175°F—not boiling)
- 3/4 cup milk (dairy or your preferred non-dairy alternative like oat, almond, or soy)
- Sweetener to taste (optional: honey, maple syrup, agave, or simple syrup)
- Ice cubes (as needed)
Sift the Matcha: Sift 1 teaspoon of matcha powder into a bowl to eliminate clumps.
Whisk the Matcha: Add 2 ounces of hot water and whisk vigorously using a bamboo whisk (chasen) or shake in a jar until the mixture is smooth and frothy.
Prepare Your Glass: Fill a glass to the top with plenty of ice.
Mix the Latte: Pour in 3/4 cup of your chosen milk over the ice, then slowly add the whisked matcha mixture.
Final Touch: Stir gently to combine all ingredients and adjust the sweetness if desired.
Serve & Enjoy: Sip immediately and enjoy your delicious, refreshing iced matcha latte!
- Use water at around 175°F to preserve matcha’s delicate flavor.
