Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 2-3 pounds Boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 3/4 cup Chicken broth (or stock)
- 1 tablespoon Olive oil or melted butter (Optional but recommended)
- to taste Salt
- to taste Black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Paprika (For color and warmth)
Instructions
Preparation
- Lightly grease your slow cooker or add a liner.
- Pour in the chicken broth.
- Season the chicken breasts on both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Optionally, drizzle with olive oil or melted butter.
- Lay the chicken in the slow cooker in a single layer. If they overlap, that’s fine, just avoid stacking them.
Cooking
- Cover and cook on Low for about 2.5 to 4 hours or High for 1.5 to 2.5 hours, until the chicken reaches 165 F in the thickest part.
- Remove the chicken and let it rest for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing or shredding.
Notes
For added flavor, a squeeze of lemon can be used at the end. Keep some cooking liquid to maintain moisture when shredding.
