Description

These fun and adorable pumpkin-shaped sliders are the perfect addition to your Halloween party or cozy dinner, featuring simple ingredients and a delightful cheeseburger flavor.

Ingredients

Slider Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef (80 or 85 percent lean) (Juicy slider base)
  • 12 pieces Slider buns or soft dinner rolls (Soft buns are better for shaping)
  • 1 tsp Salt (For seasoning)
  • 1 tsp Pepper (For seasoning)
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder (Optional but adds flavor)
  • 1 tsp Onion powder (Optional but worth it)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (For enhanced flavor)
  • 12 slices Cheese slices (cheddar, American, pepper jack) (Choose your favorite cheese)
  • 2 tbsp Butter (For brushing the tops)
  • 12 pieces Kitchen-safe cotton string (For giving the sliders a pumpkin shape)
  • 12 pieces Small herb sprigs or chives (For the stem look)

Instructions

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, gently mix ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Do not overmix.
  2. Shape small patties a little wider than your buns since they shrink during cooking.

Cooking

  1. Cook patties by baking at 400°F for about 15-20 minutes or pan-fry on medium-high heat, flipping once until cooked through.
  2. Drain excess grease to prevent soggy buns.

Assembling

  1. Split buns, place beef on the bottom halves, add cheese, and then top with the other half. For melty cheese, place in the oven for a couple of minutes.
  2. Cut string into four pieces for each slider. Wrap each slider with the string to create pumpkin grooves, ensuring it is snug but not too tight.

Finishing Touches

  1. Brush melted butter on the tops of the sliders and warm in the oven for 5 to 8 minutes.
  2. Insert a chive or herb sprig on top as the ‘pumpkin stem’.

Notes

Do not over tighten the string. Warm buns shape better. Use melty cheese for best results. Remove the string before serving.
