Ingredients
Dough and Filling
- 1 package Pizza dough (Store bought refrigerated dough can be used.)
- 1 cup Pepperoni (Regular or mini pepperoni both work.)
- 1 cup Mozzarella cheese (Shredded or small cubes.)
- 1 cup Pizza sauce (Or marinara.)
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (Optional, but adds flavor.)
- 1 teaspoon Garlic powder (Optional.)
- 1 large Egg (For egg wash.)
- 6 sticks Small pretzel sticks (For the pumpkin stem.)
Instructions
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cut the pizza dough into equal pieces, about the size of small dinner rolls.
- Flatten each piece into a circle in your hands.
- Add a little mozzarella cheese, a few pepperoni pieces, and about a teaspoon of pizza sauce on each dough circle. Sprinkle Italian seasoning if desired.
- Pull the edges of the dough up and pinch tightly to seal, forming a pouch.
- Roll each sealed pouch gently so that the seam side is down.
- Cut 4 to 6 pieces of kitchen twine, slide them under the dough ball, and tie them loosely across the top to create indentations.
- Brush each dough ball with egg wash.
Cooking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes, then carefully snip and remove the twine.
- Push a small pretzel stick into the top of each pumpkin for the stem.
Notes
Serve with warm pizza sauce or ranch for dipping. Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 2 months. These can be reheated in the oven or air fryer for best results.
