Dough
- 1 ball store bought pizza dough (or homemade pizza dough)
Filling
- 1 cup low moisture mozzarella, shredded (Alternatives: provolone or a pizza blend)
- 1 cup pizza sauce (Use thick sauce; consider simmering if watery)
- 12 slices pepperoni (Regular slice size preferred)
Optional Toppings
- 1 pinch Italian seasoning (For added flavor)
- 1 pinch garlic powder (For extra taste)
- 2 tbsp grated parmesan (Sprinkle on top before baking)
Instructions
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Cut the pizza dough into 6-8 equal pieces.
- On a floured surface, flatten each piece into a small oval or circle.
Filling
- Spoon a little pizza sauce into the center of each piece of dough.
- Add a layer of mozzarella and place 4-6 slices of pepperoni on top.
- Top with another pinch of mozzarella, leaving half an inch of dough around the edge.
Sealing
- Fold the dough over the filling and press the edges together.
- Crimp the edges with a fork to seal.
- Brush the tops with olive oil or egg wash if desired.
Baking
- Place the pizza pockets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 14-18 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
These pizza pockets can be frozen either unbaked or baked for later enjoyment. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
