For the Cabbage
- 1 head Cabbage, cut into wedges (Remove loose outer leaves before cutting)

For the Creamy Parmesan Sauce
- 2 tablespoons Butter (For making the sauce)
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced (Fresh is best)
- 1 cup Heavy cream (Or half and half)
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese, finely grated (To melt smoothly)
- 1 pinch Nutmeg (Optional, for flavor)
- 1 pinch Red pepper flakes (Optional, for heat)
Instructions
Preparation
- Remove any loose outer leaves from the cabbage.
- Slice the cabbage in half through the core, then cut each half into wedges.
Searing the Cabbage
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add butter and oil.
- Place the cabbage wedges cut side down in the skillet and sear without touching for about 4-5 minutes until golden brown.
- Flip the wedges and sear the other side for about 4-5 minutes.
Making the Sauce
- Lower the heat and add more butter to the skillet.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Pour in the heavy cream and stir gently.
- Gradually sprinkle in Parmens, stirring until melted and smooth.
Baking
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Spoon the creamy sauce over the seared cabbage wedges.
- Bake in the oven for 20-30 minutes, until the center is tender.
- Optional: Broil for 1-2 minutes for extra browning.
Notes
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven to avoid sauce thickening in the fridge.
