For the Sweet Potato Filling

Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Poke each sweet potato with a fork and roast for 45-60 minutes until very soft.
- Peel the cooked sweet potatoes and mash them. Mix in the butter, maple syrup, milk, eggs, vanilla, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Adjust flavors as desired.
Topping Preparation
- In a bowl, combine chopped pecans, flour, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, melted butter, and maple syrup. Mix until it resembles damp sand.
Baking
- Spread the sweet potato filling in a buttered baking dish and sprinkle the pecan topping on top.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until hot and set.
- Add the marshmallows and bake for an additional 5-8 minutes, watching closely to toast them without burning.
