Description

Crispy and creamy jalapeño popper egg rolls that are perfect for game day or any party. Easy to make and can be cooked in an air fryer, oven, or deep-fried.

Ingredients

Filling

  • 8 oz Cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese (Sharp recommended)
  • 6 slices Bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 medium Jalapeños, diced (Seeds and ribs removed for less heat)
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder or minced garlic (Optional, but adds flavor)
  • 2 stalks Green onions, diced (Optional, for extra bite)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt (Adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper (Adjust to taste)

For assembly

  • 10 pieces Egg roll wrappers (Use refrigerated wrappers for best results)
  • 1 tbsp Water (For sealing wrappers)
  • oil spray Oil spray for air frying or baking

Instructions

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, crumbled bacon, diced jalapeños, garlic (if using), green onions (if using), salt, and pepper.
  2. Taste the filling mixture and adjust seasoning as needed.

Assembling Egg Rolls

  1. Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface like a diamond shape.
  2. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of the filling near the bottom half of the wrapper.
  3. Roll the wrapper snugly, folding the bottom corner up over the filling, tucking it in, and folding in the sides.
  4. Seal the top corner with a dab of water.

Cooking

  1. Air Fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C). Spray the egg rolls with oil and cook for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  2. Deep Frying: Heat oil to 350°F (177°C) and fry the egg rolls in small batches for 2-4 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Oven: Preheat the oven to 425°F (218°C), place on a baking sheet, spray with oil, and bake for 10 minutes. Flip and bake for an additional 6-10 minutes until crispy.

Notes

Keep the wrappers covered while working to prevent drying. Let the filling cool before using to avoid soggy wrappers. Adjust heat level of jalapeños according to your preference by removing seeds and ribs.
