Ingredients
For the Bites
- 12 count soft dinner rolls or slider buns (12 count works great)
- 1 cup cooked ham, chopped small (or sliced thin and folded)
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded or sliced (can mix cheeses if desired)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened (for easy spreading)
- 1/2 cup butter, melted (for brushing on top)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder (or dried minced onion)
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds (optional, for classic look and crunch)

Instructions
Preparation
- Heat your oven to 350°F.
- Slice the dinner rolls in half as one big slab if possible, keeping them connected.
- Spread a thin layer of softened cream cheese on the bottom half of the rolls.
- Add ham in an even layer, then add cheddar cheese.
- Put the top half of the rolls back on and gently press down.
Baking
- Mix melted butter with garlic powder, onion powder, poppy seeds, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Brush the butter mixture over the top of the rolls.
- Cover loosely with foil and bake for about 15 minutes.
- Uncover and bake for an additional 5 to 8 minutes until the tops look golden and the cheese is melted.
- Let sit for 5 minutes, then slice into individual bites.
Notes
For best results, use soft rolls and do not skip the foil step to ensure even melting. You can customize fillings based on preference.
