Description

A refreshing and hydrating drink made from ripe watermelon, perfect for hot summer days.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4-6 cups Seedless watermelon, cubed and chilled (Choose a ripe melon that smells sweet.)
  • 1-2 tablespoons Fresh lime juice (Optional but highly recommended.)
  • 1 pinch Salt (Enhances the flavor.)
  • 1-2 teaspoons Honey or maple syrup (Only add if the melon is not sweet.)
  • to taste Mint leaves (Optional, for a fresh garnish.)
  • as needed Ice (For serving or blend in for a slushy consistency.)

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Cut and chill the watermelon. Cube the watermelon and remove any black seeds. Chill the cubes for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Blend the watermelon cubes in a blender. Start with 4 cups and add more if your blender has space. Blend for about 20 to 40 seconds until fully liquid.
  3. Taste and adjust. Add lime juice and a tiny pinch of salt, then blend again. If the melon is not sweet enough, add honey or maple syrup.
  4. Strain (optional). If you prefer a smooth texture, pour the juice through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher.
  5. Serve in glasses over ice. Add mint leaves for garnish if desired.

Notes

Storage: Keep leftovers in a covered pitcher in the fridge for up to 2 days. Stir before pouring as the juice may separate. You can also freeze the juice in ice cube trays for later use.
