Main Ingredients
- 2 to 3 medium apples (Choose crisp varieties like Honeycrisp, Gala, or Pink Lady)
- 1/2 cup peanut butter (Creamy for easiest preparation; chunky is fun too)
- 1 cup mini marshmallows (These are the 'teeth')
Optional Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (For browning prevention)
- 1 tablespoon pineapple juice (For browning prevention)
- 1/4 cup raisins (Can be used for decoration)
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips (Can be used for decoration)
- 1/4 cup candy eyes (For spooky decoration)
Instructions
Preparation
- Wash your apples and slice them into wedges.
- Pat the slices dry to help the peanut butter stick.
- Spread peanut butter on one side of an apple wedge, leaving a stripe in the middle.
- Press mini marshmallows into the peanut butter in a row to create ‘teeth.’
- Take another apple wedge and place it on top of the first, peanut butter side facing down.
- Gently press to hold together and adjust the marshmallows if necessary.
Notes
For the best results, cut apples closer to serving time to prevent browning. If making ahead, dip apple slices in lemon or pineapple juice, dry well, and store in an airtight container.
