Instructions
Cooking Steps
- Heat a large skillet on medium high heat. Add the ground beef and break it up, letting it sit for a minute to brown.
- Add the diced onion when the beef is halfway browned. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until the onion softens.
- Stir in minced garlic for 30 seconds.
- Push the beef and onion to the sides of the skillet and stir in the tomato paste in the middle for about 30 seconds.
- Add the sliced cabbage, along with salt, pepper, and paprika if using. Pour in the broth, and toss well.
- Cover and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, then uncover and cook for an additional 2 to 3 minutes, stirring until the cabbage is tender but retains some bite.
Notes
Leftovers keep well in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat with a splash of broth to avoid drying out. Cabbage can be stored sliced for faster prep. Can substitute ingredients based on availability.
