Description

A warm, cozy appetizer featuring creamy brie cheese baked with garlic and fresh herbs for a sophisticated yet simple party treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 wheel wheel of brie (8 to 16 ounces) (Choose a wheel that feels slightly soft when pressed.)
  • 2 to 4 cloves cloves garlic (minced or thinly sliced) (Adjust amount to taste.)
  • to taste Fresh rosemary (plus thyme or parsley if desired) (Rosemary is recommended for its aroma.)
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil or melted butter (Use for drizzling over the brie.)
  • to taste Black pepper (Freshly ground is preferred.)
  • optional honey, lemon zest, or chopped nuts (For topping after baking.)

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place the brie on a small baking dish or oven-safe skillet lined with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  3. Score the top of the brie with shallow cuts in a crisscross pattern.
  4. Top the brie with minced garlic, chopped herbs, black pepper, and a drizzle of olive oil or melted butter.

Baking

  1. Bake the brie in the preheated oven until soft and gooey, typically 12 to 15 minutes for an 8-ounce wheel and 15 to 20 minutes for a 16-ounce wheel.

Serving

  1. Once out of the oven, optionally top with honey, lemon zest, chopped nuts, or red pepper flakes for additional flavor.
  2. Serve immediately with crackers, sliced bread, or fresh vegetables.

Notes

You can prepare this dish ahead of time by scoring the brie and adding toppings, then refrigerating until ready to bake. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator and reheated in the oven.
