A refreshing and crunchy salad perfect for summer cookouts, combining cucumbers, crispy bacon, and a creamy dressing.


Ingredients

Salad Ingredients

  • 4 medium Cucumbers (English cucumbers preferred for their crunch.)
  • 6 slices Bacon (Cook until crispy.)
  • 1 cup Sour cream or Greek yogurt (Use as the creamy base.)
  • 1 tablespoon Ranch seasoning (Or substitute with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.)
  • 1/4 cup Red onion (Shall be sliced.)
  • 1 tablespoon Dill (Fresh or dried.)
  • 1 splash Vinegar or lemon juice (Optional for brightness.)


Instructions

Preparation

  1. Slice the cucumbers into thin slices ensuring you get more surface area but not paper thin.
  2. If time allows, pat the slices dry with a paper towel.
  3. Prepare the dressing by mixing sour cream (or Greek yogurt), ranch seasoning, chopped dill, black pepper, and a splash of lemon or vinegar in a bowl.
  4. Add sliced red onion or chopped green onion to the bowl and toss to combine.
  5. Combine the cucumbers with the dressing until well coated.
  6. Fold in most of the bacon, keeping some to sprinkle on top before serving.

Serving

  1. Serve immediately, or chill for 10 minutes for a colder salad.

Notes

To prevent a watery salad, be sure to dry the cucumbers and drain any excess water. Mix the ingredients close to serving time for best texture.
