Description

A simple, creamy, and savory ranch chicken recipe perfect for busy weeknights, made in the slow cooker.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Chicken (breasts or thighs) (Breasts for a leaner option, thighs for more fat and tenderness.)
  • 1 packet Ranch seasoning (Can use a homemade blend.)
  • 8 oz Cream cheese (Full fat for the creamiest sauce.)
  • 10.5 oz Cream of chicken soup or sour cream (Add sour cream at the end to avoid separation.)
  • 0.5 cup Broth or water (Optional, to help the cooking process.)
  • to taste Black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder (Optional, for extra flavor.)

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Add chicken to the slow cooker in an even layer.
  2. Sprinkle ranch seasoning over the chicken.
  3. Add cream cheese in chunks on top. If using cream of chicken soup, spoon it over everything. If using sour cream, wait until the end to add it.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours or high for 2.5-3.5 hours.
  5. Once cooked, shred the chicken in the crock pot and stir to coat with the creamy ranch sauce.

Notes

For leftovers, it makes great sandwiches, tacos, and casseroles. Optional add-ins include shredded cheese, cooked bacon, chopped jalapenos, or vegetables like mushrooms and spinach. Store in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze for 2-3 months. Reheat gently to avoid sauce separation.
