Description
A simple, creamy, and savory ranch chicken recipe perfect for busy weeknights, made in the slow cooker.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 2 lbs Chicken (breasts or thighs) (Breasts for a leaner option, thighs for more fat and tenderness.)
- 1 packet Ranch seasoning (Can use a homemade blend.)
- 8 oz Cream cheese (Full fat for the creamiest sauce.)
- 10.5 oz Cream of chicken soup or sour cream (Add sour cream at the end to avoid separation.)
- 0.5 cup Broth or water (Optional, to help the cooking process.)
- to taste Black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder (Optional, for extra flavor.)
Instructions
Preparation
- Add chicken to the slow cooker in an even layer.
- Sprinkle ranch seasoning over the chicken.
- Add cream cheese in chunks on top. If using cream of chicken soup, spoon it over everything. If using sour cream, wait until the end to add it.
- Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours or high for 2.5-3.5 hours.
- Once cooked, shred the chicken in the crock pot and stir to coat with the creamy ranch sauce.
Notes
For leftovers, it makes great sandwiches, tacos, and casseroles. Optional add-ins include shredded cheese, cooked bacon, chopped jalapenos, or vegetables like mushrooms and spinach. Store in the fridge for 3-4 days or freeze for 2-3 months. Reheat gently to avoid sauce separation.
