Description

Delicious and crispy Air Fryer Apple Fries that combine a crunchy coating with warm, tender apples. A quick, sweet snack perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

For the Apple Fries

  • 2-3 medium Apples (Recommended varieties: Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, Gala, or Fuji.)
  • 1/2 cup All purpose flour (For a dry base layer.)
  • 2 large Eggs (To help the coating stick.)
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs (Key for achieving a crunchy texture.)
  • 1/4 cup Granulated sugar or brown sugar (Use your preference.)
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon (Can adjust based on taste.)
  • 1 pinch Salt (To enhance flavor.)
  • 0.5 cup Cooking spray or oil (For light coating.)

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C). Line up your coating bowls for efficiency.
  2. Slice the apples into fry shapes about 1/4 inch thick. Peeling them is optional.
  3. Pat the apple slices dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.

Coating

  1. Coat each apple slice in flour first, then dip into beaten eggs, followed by pressing into a mixture of panko, cinnamon, sugar, and salt.
  2. Arrange the coated fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket and lightly spray with cooking oil.

Cooking

  1. Air fry the apple fries for 8 to 12 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden and crispy.
  2. Allow them to cool for 2 minutes before serving.

Notes

Avoid overcrowding the basket to prevent steaming. Serve with a variety of dipping sauces like caramel or yogurt.
