Delicious and crispy Air Fryer Apple Fries that combine a crunchy coating with warm, tender apples. A quick, sweet snack perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
For the Apple Fries
- 2-3 medium Apples (Recommended varieties: Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, Gala, or Fuji.)
- 1/2 cup All purpose flour (For a dry base layer.)
- 2 large Eggs (To help the coating stick.)
- 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs (Key for achieving a crunchy texture.)
- 1/4 cup Granulated sugar or brown sugar (Use your preference.)
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon (Can adjust based on taste.)
- 1 pinch Salt (To enhance flavor.)
- 0.5 cup Cooking spray or oil (For light coating.)
Instructions
Preparation
- Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C). Line up your coating bowls for efficiency.
- Slice the apples into fry shapes about 1/4 inch thick. Peeling them is optional.
- Pat the apple slices dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
Coating
- Coat each apple slice in flour first, then dip into beaten eggs, followed by pressing into a mixture of panko, cinnamon, sugar, and salt.
- Arrange the coated fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket and lightly spray with cooking oil.
Cooking
- Air fry the apple fries for 8 to 12 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden and crispy.
- Allow them to cool for 2 minutes before serving.
Notes
Avoid overcrowding the basket to prevent steaming. Serve with a variety of dipping sauces like caramel or yogurt.
