Ingredients

- 1 to 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (Optional, but adds flavor.)
- 1 pinch salt (Only if your butter is unsalted.)
- 1 pinch chili flakes (Optional for heat.)
For the bread
- 1 loaf bread (French or Italian bread recommended.)
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella (Provides stretch.)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack (Adds flavor.)
- 1/2 to 3/4 cup chopped green or black olives (Pat dry if packed in brine.)
Instructions
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Place a baking sheet inside if you want crispy edges.
- Slice the loaf in half lengthwise.
- In a bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and a pinch of salt (if needed).
Assembly
- Spread the garlic butter generously on the cut sides of the bread.
- Sprinkle the chopped olives evenly over the buttered bread.
- Layer the shredded cheeses, starting with mozzarella, followed by cheddar, and topping it with extra mozzarella.
Baking
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until cheese is melted.
- Broil for 1 to 2 minutes for golden, bubbly spots, watching closely to avoid burning.
Serving
- Let the bread rest for 2 minutes, then slice and serve warm.
