Description

Crispy and spicy Buffalo Cauliflower Wings that satisfy your cravings without the meat. Perfect as a snack or appetizer for any gathering.

Ingredients

For the Cauliflower Wings

  • 1 large head large head of cauliflower cut into bite size florets
  • 0.5 cup all purpose flour or gluten free blend if needed
  • 0.5 cup unsweetened plant milk like almond, soy, or oat
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional but so good)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch (regular or gluten free)
  • 0.5 cup buffalo sauce plus a little melted vegan butter (optional for richness)

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Heat your oven to 450°F (232°C) and line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, plant milk, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until the batter has a thick consistency, like pancake batter.
  3. Dip each cauliflower floret in the batter, let the excess drip off, then roll in panko and place on the sheet pan with space around each piece.

Baking and Sauce Application

  1. Bake the cauliflower wings for about 20 minutes, flipping them halfway through.
  2. Toss the baked cauliflower gently with buffalo sauce (and melted vegan butter if using) and place them back on the pan.
  3. Bake for an additional 10 minutes until the wings are sticky and crisp around the edges.

Notes

For extra crispiness, dry the cauliflower after washing, avoid crowding the pan, and consider two-stage baking. Serve fresh for best texture. If using an air fryer, lightly spray the basket with oil.
