Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Brownie Base

  • 1 box Brownie mix (Choose a fudgy or chewy variety.)
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1/3 cup Oil (Use vegetable or canola oil.)
  • 1/4 cup Water (Or follow box instructions.)

For the Cream Layer

  • 8 ounces Cream cheese (Softened for easy mixing.)
  • 1 box Instant pudding mix (Chocolate or vanilla.)
  • 2 cups Cold milk (For thickening pudding.)
  • 8 ounces Whipped topping (For a light, mousse-like texture.)

For the Topping

  • 1/2 cup Chocolate syrup (Or your favorite hot fudge.)
  • 1/4 cup Shaved chocolate (For garnish.)

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Preheat your oven and prepare the brownie mix according to the box instructions, baking in a 9×13 inch pan.
  2. Bake for a few minutes less than the recommended time for a fudgier base.
  3. Allow brownies to cool completely.

Making the Cream Layer

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk the instant pudding mix with cold milk until thickened.
  3. Mix the pudding into the cream cheese, then fold in the whipped topping until fluffy.

Assembling the Cake

  1. Spread the cream layer evenly over the cooled brownie base.
  2. Drizzle with chocolate syrup or hot fudge, then chill in the refrigerator.
  3. Chill for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Notes

For best results, let the brownies cool completely before adding the cream layer. You can use a hot knife to slice for clean edges.
