- 1/2 cup old fashioned oats (Quick oats can be used if needed.)
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

- 1/2 cup butter, softened (Do not use melted butter.)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (For soft and chewy texture.)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

- 1 cup fresh blackberries (Can use frozen, thawed and drained.)
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips or chunks (Optional for added sweetness.)

Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
- Mix in the egg and vanilla until smooth.
- Add flour, baking soda, salt, and oats. Stir until the dough is thick and combined.
- Gently fold in the blackberries and white chocolate chips to avoid crushing them.
- Scoop dough onto baking sheet, leaving space between cookies.
Baking
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes until the edges are set but the center is slightly underdone.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for 5-10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 2 days or refrigerated for up to 5 days. Freeze for up to 2 months.
