Description

Cute and festive Mini Bat Grilled Cheese Sandwiches are perfect for Halloween, providing a cozy comfort food that delights both kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 12 slices Sliced bread (soft sandwich bread is easiest)
  • 6 slices Cheese slices (American, Cheddar, or Mozzarella)
  • 2 tbsp Softened butter or mayo (For the outside of the bread)
  • 1 pinch Salt (Optional but enhances flavor)

Optional Add-Ons

  • 4 slices Ham or turkey slices (For extra protein)
  • 25 pieces Pepperoni (Adds a pizza flavor)
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard (For a tangy kick)
  • 1 tsp Hot sauce (Optional for adults)

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Lay out your bread slices and lightly butter one side of each.
  2. Put cheese on the unbuttered side of one slice, ensuring not to overstuff.
  3. Top with another slice, buttered side facing out.

Cooking

  1. Warm a skillet over medium to medium-low heat.
  2. Cook for 2 to 4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula.
  3. Flip when the bottom is golden.
  4. Move to a cutting board and let it sit for 1 minute.

Cutting and Shaping

  1. Cut the grilled cheese into a rectangle or square.
  2. For the top wings, make two small outward bumps on each side.
  3. For the bottom wings, cut two little inward curves.
  4. For the ears, cut two tiny triangles at the top middle.

Notes

For best results, keep the heat medium-low and consider covering the pan for quicker cheese melting. If desired, a small amount of marinara can be added inside for a ‘vampire bat’ theme.
