Ingredients

Units Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 10-12 pieces Fresh figs
  • 8 ounces Goat cheese, plain (soft log style)
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 1/2 cup Walnuts, roughly chopped (Optional: a tiny splash of olive oil or melted butter for toasting)
  • 3 leaves Fresh sage (or thyme)
  • 1 pinch Salt (To enhance the flavor)

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  2. Rinse and gently dry the figs. Slice off the little stem tip and cut a cross into the top of each fig, about halfway down.
  3. Stuff a small spoonful of goat cheese into the center of each fig.

Baking

  1. Place the figs on a lined baking sheet or in a small baking dish.
  2. Bake for about 10 to 12 minutes, until the figs look juicy and the cheese is warm.

Finishing Touches

  1. Drizzle honey over the baked figs, sprinkle with walnuts, add sage, and finish with a pinch of salt.
  2. Serve warm, allowing them to cool for a couple of minutes before serving.

Notes

You can prep figs earlier in the day and stuff them with cheese a few hours ahead. Toast the walnuts before use for enhanced flavor. Can substitute ingredients for variety; try different nuts, herbs, or cheeses.
