Main Ingredients
- 30 pieces square waffle pretzels (You can also use twists or pretzel crisps.)
- 3 medium crisp apples (Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, or Pink Lady are recommended.)
- 1 bag soft caramel squares (Use the kind meant for candy making.)
- 1 cup melting chocolate wafers (Chocolate chips or a candy bar can also be used.)
- 1 cup optional toppings (Chopped nuts, sprinkles, flaky salt, or crushed toffee bits.)
Instructions
Preparation
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Set pretzels on the tray in a single layer.
- Add one unwrapped caramel on each pretzel.
- Warm them at 200°F for about 3 to 5 minutes until softened.
- Press an apple piece on top of each softened caramel.
- Let them cool for about 10 minutes to set the caramel.
- Drizzle with melted chocolate and add toppings while the chocolate is still wet.
Notes
For the best flavor, make these close to serving time. To prevent apples from browning, dip them in lemon water before use.
