- 1 cup Rolled oats
- 1/2 cup Whole wheat flour or oat flour
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1 pinch Salt
- 4 tablespoons Butter or coconut oil, melted (Used to make the crumbly topping.)
- 1/2 cup Chopped nuts or seeds (Optional, for added crunch.)
Instructions
Preparation
- Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
- Toss sliced apples with cinnamon, a pinch of salt, maple syrup, and lemon juice if using. Spread them into the prepared dish.
Making the Topping
- In a bowl, mix together oats, flour, cinnamon, and salt.
- Add melted butter or coconut oil and stir until crumbly. Mix in nuts or seeds if using.
Baking
- Sprinkle the topping over the apples, covering as much as possible.
- Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, until apples are bubbly and soft, and the topping is golden brown.
