Main Ingredients
- 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs (Thighs stay juicier.)
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened (Full fat melts best.)
- 10.5 ounces cream of chicken soup (This helps make the sauce silky.)
- 1 packet Italian dressing seasoning mix (The dry packet kind.)
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted (Adds flavor and smoothness.)
- 1/4 cup chicken broth (Optional, adds looseness if needed.)
- 12 ounces angel hair pasta (Classic pasta choice.)
Instructions
Preparation
- Spray or lightly butter the inside of your slow cooker.
- Add chicken in an even layer.
- In a bowl, stir together cream of chicken soup, Italian seasoning packet, softened cream cheese cut into chunks, and melted butter. If you want a looser sauce, add a splash of chicken broth.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken.
- Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours or high for 2 to 3.5 hours until the chicken is done and tender.
- Stir the sauce well, then shred or slice the chicken and mix it back into the sauce.
- Serve over pasta and spoon plenty of sauce on top.
Notes
Let the chicken rest in the sauce after cooking to keep it moist. Leftovers can be refrigerated for 3 to 4 days or frozen for 2 to 3 months.
