Description

Crock Pot Angel Chicken is a creamy Italian slow cooker chicken dish that requires minimal effort, making it perfect for busy weeknights. Serve it over pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs (Thighs stay juicier.)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened (Full fat melts best.)
  • 10.5 ounces cream of chicken soup (This helps make the sauce silky.)
  • 1 packet Italian dressing seasoning mix (The dry packet kind.)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted (Adds flavor and smoothness.)
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth (Optional, adds looseness if needed.)
  • 12 ounces angel hair pasta (Classic pasta choice.)

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Spray or lightly butter the inside of your slow cooker.
  2. Add chicken in an even layer.
  3. In a bowl, stir together cream of chicken soup, Italian seasoning packet, softened cream cheese cut into chunks, and melted butter. If you want a looser sauce, add a splash of chicken broth.
  4. Pour the sauce over the chicken.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours or high for 2 to 3.5 hours until the chicken is done and tender.
  6. Stir the sauce well, then shred or slice the chicken and mix it back into the sauce.
  7. Serve over pasta and spoon plenty of sauce on top.

Notes

Let the chicken rest in the sauce after cooking to keep it moist. Leftovers can be refrigerated for 3 to 4 days or frozen for 2 to 3 months.
