Description

These chewy maple cookies, dipped in white chocolate, are the perfect blend of fall and holiday flavors, guaranteed to impress at any gathering.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (Measure with a light hand for best results.)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (Fresh cinnamon is recommended.)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup pure maple syrup (Not pancake syrup.)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

For Dipping

  • 1 cup white chocolate chips, melted

Optional Add-Ins

  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries, chopped walnuts, or caramel bits (Add-ins can be mixed into the dough.)

Instructions

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  2. In another bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, maple syrup, egg, and vanilla.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  4. Chill the dough for 30 minutes.

Baking

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Scoop dough balls onto a baking sheet.
  3. Bake for 9-11 minutes, until they look slightly underdone.
  4. Let cool slightly, then dip halfway in melted white chocolate or drizzle it.

Notes

For best results, measure flour lightly, chill dough, and do not overmix after adding flour. Cakes freeze well and can be baked directly from frozen.
