Description
A comforting and easy-to-make chili dog casserole loaded with ground beef, hot dogs, and crispy tater tots, finished with melted cheddar cheese.

- 1 lb Ground beef
- 8 pieces Hot dogs or smoked sausages
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 32 ounce bag Tater tots, frozen
- 1 10 ounce can Tomatoes with green chilies
- 1 Medium Yellow onion, chopped
- 1 15 ounce can Tomato sauce
- 1/2 tsp Black pepper
- 2 tbsp Chili seasoning
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 cups Sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
- Cooking spray Cooking spray
Instructions
Preparation
- Spray the crockpot with cooking spray.
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat; drain excess fat.
- Transfer the beef to the crockpot.
- Add sliced hot dogs, minced garlic, chopped onion, tomatoes with green chilies, tomato sauce, black pepper, chili seasoning, and salt to the crockpot. Stir well to combine.
- Layer the tater tots on top of the mixture.
- Cover and cook on low for 5 hours.
- Before serving, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top and let it melt.
- Serve warm.
Notes
Serve with ketchup, mustard, chopped pickles, sour cream, or a simple green salad. Store leftovers in airtight containers for up to 4 days. Reheat in the microwave or oven.
