Description
A refreshing and bright summer snack made with juicy melon, tequila, and a hint of spice. Perfect for cooling off on warm evenings or serving at gatherings.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 4 cups Fresh melon (such as watermelon or cantaloupe) (Pick ripe melon. A ripe melon smells sweet at the stem end and gives a little when you press.)
- 2 tablespoons Tequila (You can swap with extra lime juice and a splash of sparkling water for a non-alcoholic version.)
- 1 teaspoon Chili powder (Add to taste, but be cautious not to over-season.)
- 2 tablespoons Lime juice (Fresh lime juice enhances the flavor.)
- 1 pinch Salt (Salt wakes up the flavors.)
- 6 skewers Skewers (Use wooden skewers soaked in water if placing on ice.)
Instructions
Assembly
- Cut the melon into bite-sized cubes.
- In a small bowl, mix tequila, chili powder, lime juice, and salt to create the seasoning.
- Thread the melon pieces onto the skewers.
- Brush or drizzle the spicy tequila mixture over the skewers.
- Serve chilled and enjoy!
Chilling
- After assembling, put the skewers on a tray and pop them in the fridge for 10 minutes to let the flavors meld.
Notes
For serving, lay the skewers on a simple platter with extra lime wedges on the side. For a picnic, wrap the tray tightly in plastic and carry it chilled. Add mint leaves on top for presentation and flavor.
