Description
A creamy and savory dip that captures the flavor of a Big Mac, perfect for game days and gatherings.
Ingredients
For the Dip
- 1 lb ground beef (lean works best)
- 1 medium onion, finely diced (to melt into the dip)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (adds flavor)
- 8 oz cream cheese (cut into chunks for melting)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or cheddar blend for extra melt)
- 1 cup dill pickles, chopped (add some pickle juice for flavor if desired)
- 2 tbsp mustard (for that burger shop vibe)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 cup Big Mac style sauce (homemade is best)
Instructions
Cooking the Beef
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the diced onion and cook until softened, about 4 to 5 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic for the last 30 seconds, then drain any excess grease.
Combining in Crockpot
- Transfer the cooked beef mixture to the slow cooker.
- Add cream cheese, half of the shredded cheddar, and a few spoonfuls of the Big Mac sauce. Stir lightly.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 1.5 to 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
- For a quicker method, cook on HIGH for about 1 hour, but LOW is smoother.
Finishing Touches
- Stir in the chopped pickles and the remaining shredded cheese near the end.
- Add more sauce to taste; it should be saucy but not soupy.
- Set the dip to WARM for serving.
Notes
Serve with a variety of dippers like tortilla chips, vegetables, or mini slider buns. For toppings, add shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and additional pickles.
