Ingredients
For the chicken mixture
- 2 cups cooked chicken, chopped or shredded (Boneless skinless chicken thighs recommended for juiciness.)
- 1 cup cheese, mixed (mozzarella and cheddar recommended) (Shred your own cheese for better melt.)
- 2 tablespoons butter or olive oil (For cooking the garlic.)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced (Fresh garlic preferred.)
For the tortillas
- 4 large flour tortillas (Burrito size for easier wrapping.)
For seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Optional add-ins
- 1 cup spinach, chopped (For added freshness.)
- 1 cup diced bell peppers (For crunch.)
- 2 tablespoons hot sauce (If you like some heat.)
Instructions
Cooking the Filling
- Warm a skillet on medium heat and add butter or olive oil.
- Add minced garlic and stir for about 20 to 30 seconds until it becomes fragrant.
- Add the cooked chicken and season with salt, pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning. Stir and heat until the chicken is hot.
- Turn heat to low and add your cheese. Stir just until it starts melting; add a splash of milk or cream if it looks dry.
Wrapping the Tortillas
- Spoon the mixture into warm tortillas and roll them up snugly.
- Toast the wraps in a dry skillet for 1 to 2 minutes per side until golden and melty inside.
Notes
For maximum melt, keep heat low when adding cheese and toast the wraps after rolling. Customize flavors with various herbs, spices, and sauces.
