Ingredients

Brownie Base

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest (Zest before juicing for best results)
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (Use fresh for the best flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice


Instructions

Preparation

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine sugar and melted butter.
  3. Add eggs, lemon zest, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.

Baking

  1. Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Glazing

  1. For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar with lemon juice until smooth.
  2. Once brownies are cooled, drizzle the glaze on top.
  3. Cut into squares and enjoy!
