Dough Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sweet rice flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet instant yeast
- 1 cup warm water (Use warm, finger-warm water to activate yeast.)
Filling Ingredients
- 1 cup mashed potatoes (Can use leftover mashed potatoes.)
- 1 cup shredded cheese (Mozzarella or your choice.)

Preparation
- In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour, sweet rice flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
- Gradually add warm water and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for a few minutes until smooth and let it rise for about 1 hour.
- Once risen, divide the dough into equal portions.
Filling
- Flatten each portion and place a tablespoon of mashed potatoes and shredded cheese in the center.
- Fold the edges over to seal the filling inside.
Cooking
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Fry the hotteok until golden brown on both sides.
- Serve hot and enjoy the cheesy pull!
Notes
When sealing the dough, press the edges well to avoid cheese leakage. Optionally add a pinch of sugar to the mashed potatoes for a sweet-salty contrast.
