- 1 pound Sausage (Regular or spicy, according to preference.)
- 8 ounces Cream cheese, softened (Helps to make the dip creamy.)
- 16 ounces Velveeta, cubed (Key ingredient for a smooth texture.)
- 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
Optional Ingredients
- to taste Crushed red pepper or hot sauce (For added heat.)
- 1 can Rotel, drained (Optional for a looser dip.)
Instructions
Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Brown the sausage in a skillet, breaking it up into small crumbles. Drain off extra grease.
- In a medium baking dish, combine cubed Velveeta, cream cheese, and the seasonings.
- Add the cooked sausage and mix until combined.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, stirring once or twice, until everything is melted and smooth.
- Allow to sit for 5 minutes before serving.
Crockpot Method
- Brown the sausage first and drain. Then add sausage, cubed Velveeta, cream cheese, and seasonings to the crockpot. Cook on low for 1.5 to 2 hours, stirring every 20 to 30 minutes, until melted and smooth.
Stovetop Method
- Brown the sausage and drain. Lower the heat, then add cubed Velveeta and cream cheese into the skillet. Stir until melted on low heat.
Notes
Great for potlucks and can be served with tortilla chips, pita chips, or veggies. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days.
