- 1 lb Spaghetti (Use your favorite shape)
- 1 lb Ground beef (Or a beef/pork mix for richness)
- 8 oz Mozzarella cheese (Cut into cubes for stuffing)
- 1/2 cup Black olives (Sliced for eyeball effect)
- 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs (Helps bind the meatballs)
- 1 Egg (For binding)
- 2 cups Marinara sauce (For serving)
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese (For topping)
Instructions
Preparation
- Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions in a big bubbling pot.
- In a separate bowl, mix ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, milk, and seasonings until combined.
- Take a portion of the meat mixture and tuck a cube of mozzarella cheese into the center, shaping it into a meatball.
- Place the meatballs on a baking sheet and bake them according to your preferred method until cooked through.
Assembly
- Once the meatballs are cooked, nudge a sliced olive onto the top of each meatball to create an eyeball effect.
- Serve the spaghetti with the meatballs placed on top, drizzled with marinara sauce for extra effect.
- Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the top before serving.
Notes
Serve with garlic bread and steamed green beans or salad. Meatballs can be made in advance and reheated. They also freeze well.
