- 1 box vanilla or white cake mix (Gives the dip holiday vibes)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened (For a dreamy, creamy texture)
- 1 tub Cool Whip (Classic version, not extra creamy)
- to taste milk (Just enough to loosen the mixture)
- as needed green food coloring (Use gel for vibrant color)
- as needed red heart-shaped candy or sprinkles (For decoration)
Optional Add-ins
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (For an extra melty goodness)
- 1/4 cup crushed peppermint (For a minty zing)
- as needed mini marshmallows (For gooey texture)
- 1-2 teaspoons cinnamon or almond extract (For extra flavor)
Instructions
Preparation
- Heat-treat the cake mix by spreading it on a baking sheet and baking at 350°F for about 5 minutes. Let it cool.
- Cream the softened cream cheese until smooth using a mixer or fork.
- Add in the cooled cake mix and mix well until no lumps remain.
- Fold in the Cool Whip gently until everything is blended and smooth.
- Slowly add green food coloring until you reach the desired Grinchy shade.
- Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with heart-shaped candy and sprinkles.
- Chill if preferred, but it’s great straight from the bowl.
Notes
Serve with Nilla wafers, pretzels, or fruit. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to three days. If it thickens, stir in a splash of milk.
