These Easy Sourdough Texas Roadhouse Rolls are soft, a little tangy, and warm from the oven, perfect for pairing with soup or roast dinners.

Dough Ingredients
- 1 cup sourdough starter (Make sure it is fed and active.)
- 1 cup warm water (Use warm, not hot water to activate the yeast.)
- 1/4 cup melted butter (For adding richness and flavor.)
- 1/4 cup sugar (Sweetens the dough.)
- 1 teaspoon salt (Enhances the flavor.)
- 4 cups all-purpose flour (Measured by spooning into the cup.)
- 1 packet instant yeast (Speeds up the rise.)
Instructions
Mixing and Kneading
- In a large bowl, combine the sourdough starter, warm water, melted butter, sugar, and salt. Stir well.
- Gradually add the flour and yeast, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-10 minutes until smooth.
First Rise
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Shaping and Second Rise
- Punch down the dough and shape it into rolls.
- Place the rolls on a greased baking sheet, cover, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
Baking
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Brush with melted butter before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with extra butter and optionally flaky salt. The rolls can be stored at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 2 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
