Description

A fun and creamy carrot-shaped cheese ball that’s perfect for holiday gatherings and parties. Quick to prepare, it’s a delightful appetizer that’s guaranteed to disappear at any event.

Ingredients

Cheese Ball Base

  • 8 oz Cream cheese, softened (Use a good quality cream cheese for best results.)
  • 1 cup Sharp cheddar cheese, freshly shredded (Pre-shredded works, but fresh blends better.)
  • 1/2 cup Finely shredded carrot (Adds color and sweetness.)
  • 2 tbsp Green onions or chives, finely sliced
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt (Adjust to taste.)
  • 1/4 tsp Black pepper (Adjust to taste.)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (Optional, for added depth.)

Coating and Decoration

  • 1/2 cup Finely shredded carrot (For coating.)
  • 1/4 cup Fresh parsley or dill (For the leafy top.)

Instructions

Preparation

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese and shredded cheddar cheese until well blended.
  2. Add finely shredded carrot, green onions, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well, and adjust seasoning as needed.
  3. Cover the bowl and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or 30 minutes in the freezer.

Shaping

  1. Once the mixture is firm, scoop it onto a piece of plastic wrap and shape it into a cone shape.
  2. Roll the shaped cheese ball in finely shredded carrot to coat the outside.
  3. Insert a small bunch of parsley or dill at the top for decoration.

Notes

For best flavor, prepare the cheese ball a day in advance. It holds its shape better when chilled properly. Serve with crackers and fresh veggies.
