Description

A creamy and comforting slow cooker chicken dish with a silky sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 8 ounces Cream cheese, softened (For smooth melting)
  • 1 can Condensed cream of chicken soup or cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 packet Italian dressing dry mix (For savory herbs and zing)
  • 1 cup Chicken broth (To loosen the sauce)
  • 1 tablespoon Butter, melted (For a glossy finish)
  • 1 package Angel hair pasta, egg noodles, or rice (For serving)

Optional Add-Ins

  • 1 cup Sliced mushrooms (If desired)
  • 2 cloves Minced garlic (If desired)
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan (If desired)

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Grease your slow cooker insert and lay the chicken in a single layer.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together condensed soup, softened cream cheese, chicken broth, melted butter, and Italian dressing mix until smooth.
  3. Pour the sauce over the chicken and add mushrooms and garlic if using. Season with pepper to taste.

Cooking

  1. Cover and cook on Low for 4 to 5 hours, or on High for 2.5 to 3.5 hours until chicken is tender.
  2. Shred or slice the chicken and stir it back into the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of warm broth or milk.
  3. Serve over angel hair pasta, egg noodles, rice, or mashed potatoes, and top with Parmesan and parsley if desired.

Notes

This dish reheats well, so it’s great for leftovers. The sauce should be creamy and pourable; adjust thickness as needed with broth or milk.
