Description

Quick and festive no-bake Rice Krispies Treats shaped like Easter eggs, perfect for any celebration or school treat.


Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal or any crispy rice cereal
  • 10 oz Mini marshmallows (Using mini marshmallows helps them melt faster.)
  • 3 tablespoons Butter (Salted is fine, unsalted works too.)
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract (Optional, but enhances the flavor.)
  • 1 pinch Salt (Optional, helpful if using unsalted butter.)
  • 12 oz Candy melts for decorating (Pastels are perfect for Easter.)
  • Sprinkles, mini eggs, or edible glitter (Any fun toppings to decorate.)


Instructions

Preparation

  1. Melt butter in a large pot on low heat.
  2. Add marshmallows and stir until smooth, keeping heat low.
  3. Stir in vanilla and a tiny pinch of salt, if using.
  4. Turn off the heat, then fold in Rice Krispies cereal until fully coated.
  5. Let the mixture sit for about 2 minutes to cool slightly.
  6. Shape the mixture into egg shapes using molds or greased hands.
  7. Let the eggs set for 20 to 30 minutes before decorating.

Decorating

  1. Drizzle melted candy melts on top in zigzag patterns.
  2. Dip the bottoms of the eggs in melted chocolate or candy melts, then add sprinkles immediately.
  3. Make ‘speckled eggs’ by flicking melted chocolate onto the surface.
  4. Place a mini egg on top while the drizzle is still wet.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature. Keeps well for 1-2 days. Can freeze wrapped in plastic for up to 4 weeks.
