Description

This creamy, cheesy Crack Chicken slow cooker recipe is the ultimate comfort food, combining shredded chicken, cream cheese, ranch seasoning, and crispy bacon for a delicious meal that cooks itself.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2-2.5 pounds Boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs (Breasts shred nicely; thighs add moisture.)
  • 8 ounces Cream cheese (At room temperature for easier melting.)
  • 1 packet Ranch seasoning mix (Store-bought or homemade.)
  • 4 slices Cooked bacon, crumbled (Reserve some for garnish.)
  • 1 cup Shredded sharp cheddar (Add to the chicken to melt in at the end.)
  • 1 splash Chicken broth or water (Just a small amount for moisture.)
  • to taste Salt and pepper (Adjust according to preference.)

Optional Add-Ins

  • 1 pinch Smoked paprika, garlic powder, or onion powder (Enhances flavor.)
  • to taste Fresh parsley or green onions (For garnish.)
  • 1 cup Chopped veggies (jalapeƱos, bell peppers, spinach) (For added texture and flavor.)

Instructions

Cooking

  1. Add chicken to the slow cooker and sprinkle with ranch seasoning, a small pinch of salt, and pepper. Add a splash of broth.
  2. Top with the cream cheese blocks. Cover and cook on low for about 4 to 5 hours or on high for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the chicken shreds easily.
  3. Shred the chicken right in the slow cooker using two forks. Stir well to blend with the melted cream cheese.
  4. Fold in most of the cheddar and most of the bacon. Cover for 5 to 10 minutes to melt the cheese.
  5. Taste and adjust salt and pepper. Garnish with remaining bacon and a sprinkle of green onions if desired.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese is softened for even melting. Cook low and slow for tender chicken. Add cheese at the end to retain a creamy texture. Adjust seasoning after shredding to match your taste preferences.
