- 4 pieces Boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs (Choose thighs for juiciness and breasts for quicker cooking.)
- 3/4 cup BBQ sauce (Use your favorite brand.)
- 6-8 strips Bacon (Cooked until crisp.)
- 1 cup Sharp cheddar cheese (Add Monterey Jack for extra melt.)
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
- 1 splash Apple cider vinegar (optional)
- 1 squeeze Honey (optional)
- 1 pinch Chili flakes (optional)

- 2 tablespoons Chopped green onions (Or parsley.)
Instructions
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly oil a baking dish.
- Season the chicken on both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
- If preferred, sear the chicken in a skillet with a little oil for 2 minutes per side to build a flavorful crust.
- Lay the chicken in the baking dish and brush with a generous layer of BBQ sauce.
- Top with crumbled or chopped crispy bacon.
- Cover the chicken with shredded sharp cheddar and add a little Monterey Jack if desired.
Cooking
- Bake for 15 to 22 minutes, depending on the thickness of the chicken, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Brush with additional BBQ sauce if desired, then let it rest for 5 minutes.
- Finish with green onions or parsley before serving hot.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat at 325°F until warmed through.
