A fun and spooky spaghetti dish garnished with mozzarella eyeballs, perfect for Halloween or themed parties.

- 12 oz spaghetti noodles
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 15 oz can crushed tomatoes
- 3 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes (optional)
Garnish
- 12 mozzarella balls (ciliegine or bocconcini)
- 6 black olives, halved
Instructions
Preparation
- Boil the spaghetti noodles in salted water until they are al dente then drain the noodles and set them aside once coocked.
- In a saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and chopped onions, sautéing them until they become soft.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes and add the tomato paste, sugar, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and red chili flakes (if using).
- Create the mozzarella eyeballs by inserting halved black olives into each mozzarella ball.
- Toss the drained spaghetti in the sauce until it is evenly coated.
- Serve the spaghetti on plates and top each serving with the mozzarella eyeballs before enjoying!
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving.
