Description

A fantastically spooky and visually striking popcorn treat, perfect for Halloween parties, easy to make and fun for kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 bag microwave popcorn (plain) (Avoid buttery popcorn for better coating.)
  • 1 cup red velvet cake mix (This provides the color and flavor.)
  • 1 cup candy melts or white chocolate (Use a coating that melts smoothly.)
  • 1 tablespoon oil (Add if the coating gets too thick.)
  • optional to taste powdered sugar (For added sweetness, if desired.)
  • extra as needed red candy melts (Drizzle over popcorn for a blood effect.)

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Pop your popcorn according to package instructions and pour it into a large bowl.
  2. Pick out any un-popped kernels.
  3. Melt the candy coating in a microwave, stirring every 20 seconds until smooth.
  4. Pour the melted coating over the popcorn and quickly sprinkle the red velvet cake mix on top, stirring to combine.
  5. If desired, drizzle extra melted red candy over the top for added color.
  6. Spread the mixture onto a tray lined with parchment paper and allow it to cool completely.
  7. Once cooled, break the popcorn into pieces and serve.

Notes

Serve in a black bowl for spooky vibes. Store in a sealed container and consume within two days for best freshness. Easy to make, mess-free clean up.
