Description

Quick and simple chicken tenders wrapped in crispy bacon with a sweet brown sugar glaze, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken tenders
  • 8 slices bacon (Use thin slices for best results.)

For the glaze

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (This caramelizes when cooked.)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (For browning the tenders.)

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Wrap each chicken tender in a slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick, if necessary.
  4. Coat each bacon-wrapped tender in the brown sugar mixture.

Cooking

  1. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the bacon-wrapped tenders on all sides.
  2. Transfer the tenders to a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the bacon is crispy.
  3. Serve hot and enjoy the sweet and savory flavors!

Notes

Don’t skip browning for better texture and flavor. If the sugar burns, lower the heat to avoid a charcoal finish. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
