Description
Quick and simple chicken tenders wrapped in crispy bacon with a sweet brown sugar glaze, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Main ingredients
- 1 pound chicken tenders
- 8 slices bacon (Use thin slices for best results.)
For the glaze
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (This caramelizes when cooked.)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (For browning the tenders.)
Instructions
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix the brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Wrap each chicken tender in a slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick, if necessary.
- Coat each bacon-wrapped tender in the brown sugar mixture.
Cooking
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the bacon-wrapped tenders on all sides.
- Transfer the tenders to a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the bacon is crispy.
- Serve hot and enjoy the sweet and savory flavors!
Notes
Don’t skip browning for better texture and flavor. If the sugar burns, lower the heat to avoid a charcoal finish. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
