Description

These Healthy Air Fryer Churro Bites are warm, cinnamon-kissed balls with a crisp edge and soft center, providing a lighter option than traditional churros.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour (Provides a nuttier flavor and more fiber.)
  • 1/4 cup coconut sugar (Adds a caramel note.)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup almond milk (Can be substituted with any milk.)
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted (For added moisture and flavor.)

Other

  • Cooking spray (To lightly coat the churro bites.)

Instructions

Preparation

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, coconut sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the almond milk and melted coconut oil.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  5. Roll the dough into small bite-sized balls and lightly coat with cooking spray.

Cooking

  1. Place the churro bites in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  2. Air fry for about 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
  3. Allow cooling slightly before serving, and sprinkle with additional cinnamon and sugar if desired.

Notes

These bites are best served warm. Use a sprinkle of cinnamon-sugar immediately after frying for extra flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 2-3 days. Refresh in the air fryer before serving.
